Even after the Apocalypse, a family should come together for dinner....
A Taste of Rita was directed by Mary Holyoke and written by Scott Milder (from a story by Holyoke) and produced as part of the first 48 Hour Film Project to take place in New Mexico. This 9-minute short was created by a pre-Trifecta+ collective called The Sunday Shooting Club (which, aside from Milder and Holyoke, included Darryl DeLoach and R.A. Arrancio-Parrain). The filmmakers drew the category of "Family Film" and liberally interpreted the genre to focus on a family of post-Apocalyptic, survivalist Mormons. A Taste of Rita won the 2006 award for Best Art Direction for DeLoach and Arrancio-Parrain.
